Dress Code

Policy

 

A student who comes to class properly dressed and ready to dance is better prepared for the discipline and commitment that is essential for success.  Therefore, it is our policy that all students (Level I and up) comply with the dress code detailed below.  Students who come to class without the proper attire will not be permitted to participate, and will be required to observe class. Creative Dance & Beginning Ballet (Suggested)
  • Pink Short-Sleeve Leotard
  • Pink Footed Tights (optional on very warm days)
  • Pink Ballet shoes
Ballet I & II
  • Light Blue Short-Sleeve Leotard
  • Pink Footed Tights (optional on very warm days)
  • Pink Ballet Shoes
Ballet III & IV
  • Burgundy Tank Leotard
  • Pink Footed Tights
  • Coordinating Dance Skirt (Optional) — NO SHORTS!
  • Pink Ballet Shoes
Advanced Ballet
  • Black Leotard (any style)

Jazz & Tap / Levels I & II
  • Light Blue Short-Sleeve Leotard

Hairstyle
Girls’ hair must be fastened securely into a bun for Ballet class and may be worn in a ponytail for Jazz, Tap, or Modern. Shorter hair must be secured away from face with clips or hair band.

 

Boys
  • White T-Shirt
  • Black Jazz Pants or Shorts
  • Black Ballet, Jazz, or Tap Shoes

At the Blue Ridge Studio for the Performing Arts, our mission is to provide an enriching and stimulating dance experience that challenges every student and balances a strong foundation in traditional dance technique with creative expression and innovative style.

Scholarships

The Blue Ridge Studio was founded under the principle that all children deserve the opportunity to dance, so our scholarship program was created with that purpose in mind.
